Problem solving can be done everywhere! On a plane, on a train and even on a coordinate plane.

Students will problem solve on a coordinate plane by finding the length of a missing side of a figure, calculating the perimeter of a rectangle and determining the distance to the nearest lake. This activity requires students to apply their prior knowledge of coordinate points, line segments, and geometric shapes. It is a perfect activity to engage the students as they practice.
