Positive and Negative Slopes offers students a complete investigation of the definition, concept, and algorithm for finding negative and positive slopes. Students are able to see lines displayed on dynamic grids. The values of each line changes every time a student revisits a page. This allows students to repeat questions numerous times until they have obtained mastery of the concept.

The detailed solutions include both visual and numerical representation, to help students connect the numerical symbols to the concrete visual shown on the graph.

Students are introduced to slope and how to calculate slope in previous documents entitled Introduction to Slope and Calculating Slope. The main idea of this document is for students to recognize whether a slope of a line is negative or positive by both looking at it on a graph and by using coordinate points of the line.
