We updated BuzzMath.com to Version 1.43 on April 7th, 2011. Note: previous releases 1.40, 1.41 and 1.42 were not mentioned since they were mainly geared toward our edition tools.
More Teacher’s Options
There is now a new button, “Teacher’s options”, available while inside a document so teachers can access detailed results, send assignments and mark favorites while viewing a document.
Better Detailed Results
Now teachers can view student results alongside the pages of a document. Special icons (gray dash, green check, yellow triangle, red x) relate information to the teacher in regards to student accuracy.
A teacher sets the reporting accuracy so he or she can be notified when students have made several attempts on a question before achieving success. This information can be useful in planning instruction and determining in if additional support is needed.
Teachers can view the details as an overview for all the students and for all the pages in a document,
or choose to focus on an individual page or individual student.
A detailed explanation of the icons and how to set accuracies will appear in the upcoming Teacher Use blog.
New Audio Feature
You spoke and we listened! Several of our users have been asking for audio and it is now in place, but in beta form. We are working on improving how fractions, equations and other special characters are read. The audio feature plays the text of the question, one paragraph at a time with highlighting, and offers pause, stop, and skip to next paragraph options. Since it is still in beta form, we’d love some feedback.
New Video Tour
We’ve changed our Teacher’s video tour to reflect all our new features and documents. This quick 2 minute video is a great way to get an overview of BuzzMath. Use it to introduce administrators or colleagues to BuzzMath by sending them this link: http://www.buzzmath.com/VideoTour.aspx
